Hovering

Sailor here.

Mom is hovering. She is hovering over ME. She keeps asking me if I am OK.

Yes, Mom, I am OK.

Mom said that I had a seizure. I don't remember that. I don't even know what that is.

All I know is that I got into the dog car to see JD for acupuncture. And then I was lying down drooling and looking out the door and Mom was smelling scared.

I felt a little fuzzy and my balance wasn't great. Mom took me to Dr. Karen and she had her friends stick my paw and then I went for acupuncture and Dr. Karen came and said my blood was fine.

Yes, I know it is fine. I feel fine. Stop hovering, Mom, you are disturbing my sleep.

Mom says we are in the Wait and See mode.

I'd rather we were in the Wait and Feed mode.

Sleeeeep

Sailor here.

Mom says that now Zoe and I are senior dogs, we sleep more.

Zoe sleeps. She can't hear any more, so if Jib jumps over her, she won't wake up. Jib thinks this is fun.

Mom says I sleep more, too. She says I don't wake up easily, either. She says my hearing is not as good as it used to be.

But Mom says that when I sleep, I am the cutest dog in the world.

Happy Birthday, Zoe!!!

Sailor here.

Jibby here.

Mom says Zoe is sixteen whole years old.

Zoe says she's still a puppy.

Mom says Zoe is more than three times older than Jib. That's a lot!

Mom says Zoe is four years older than Sailor. That's a lot, too.

Mom is really good at counting.

We hope Zoe has something special for dinner and we get some, too.

The Long Sit

Jib here.

Mom says I am getting reliable. I can sit. I can stay. I can do them both at the same time.

Especially when I am next to my friends.

My little friends.

My furry friends.

My friends that look like me.

Only smaller.

Much smaller.

Obedience Trial

Jib here.

Mom and I went to a dog show. It was to show off how obedient Mom is. She was.

Me, not so much. I tried. I tried my best.

But I wasn't perky. I wasn't bouncy.

I just didn't feel well. Not at all.

So we Not-Quited again.

But Mom says my broad jump was perfect. She was happy with my heeling and my drop on recall. I forgot all about the dumbbell, though. I couldn't remember what to do. And I didn't want to jump over the high jump either.

Mom hugged me anyway. She says there's always another dog show.

But there will never be another Jibby.

A B Day

Sailor here.

Mom said the B word. Again.

This time, she said, it tolled for me.

Hmmmph.

Agility!

Jib here.

I am tired. I am very tired. Mom says we had a long day.

Mom woke me up in the dark and remembered to give me breakfast. We drove a long way around curves and turns. And we ended up at an agility field!

I barked and I peed and I was measured. I am 24" tall.

Mom put me in my crate and I slept. And woke up. And slept. And woke up. And got out and trotted and pooped and peed. And got back in my crate.

And then I said Hello to Aunt Judy and Tavish. I said Hello to a tree and a wall, too. And I dozed some more.

Finally we ran. We ran and I jumped and tunneled and weaved. I weaved two times. I tunneled two times, too!

Mom was thrilled. She said I did everything she asked me to! She said I even went into the wrong end of the tunnel because I was so tuned in on what her body was telling me to do.

So we Not-Quited.

But I got steak for dinner.

Mom says we can do it again tomorrow.

I hope I can sleep in, though. I am tired.

So tired.
